No. As of October 2026, Duolingo has no Circassian course: neither Adyghe nor Kabardian, and no other language of the Caucasus. You can still learn Circassian for free: the Circassian App teaches both forms in short Duolingo-style lessons, and there are good free resources online.
Is Circassian on Duolingo?
No. We checked Duolingo’s full course list on 5 October 2026: it offers Russian, Turkish and Arabic, and even smaller languages such as Welsh, Irish, Hawaiian, Navajo and Yiddish, but nothing in Adyghe or Kabardian. In fact it has no language of the Caucasus at all.
That is why people searching for “Circassian Duolingo” usually end up looking for an app that works the same way: short daily lessons, sound, streaks and review.
First, pick a dialect
Circassian has two literary forms: Kabardian (East Circassian), spoken in Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia and by many families in Turkey, and Adyghe (West Circassian), spoken in Adygea and also widely in Turkey. Wikipedia in Adyghe and in Kabardian
Wikipedia exists in both languages: ady.wikipedia.org in Adyghe and kbd.wikipedia.org in Kabardian. Once you can read the alphabet, they are a free source of real texts on every subject.
Mozilla Common Voice
Common Voice, Mozilla’s open voice project, is collecting recordings in Adyghe and Kabardian. If you speak either, you can record sentences or check other people’s recordings and help speech technology learn Circassian.
Old books on the Internet Archive
For the curious: Louis Loewe’s A Dictionary of the Circassian Language (1854), English–Circassian–Turkish, is free to read. It writes words in an English-based transcription, not in today’s alphabet, so treat it as history rather than a course. The same goes for the 1866 German collection of Nart tales.
Learn the alphabet with sound first, then do one short lesson a day in one dialect, and use the phrasebook to say something real to someone: a greeting, a thank-you, a good night.
