Ingredients

Method

  1. Make a firm dough from the flour, eggs, sour cream and salt; rest 20 minutes.
  2. Roll thin and cut into strips; roll each into a cone or twist.
  3. Deep-fry in hot oil until golden and crisp; drain.
  4. Boil the sugar (or honey) with the water into a light syrup.
  5. Dip the fried pieces in the hot syrup to coat.
  6. Cool on a rack until the glaze sets; serve with tea.
Tip

Fry until fully crisp: a soft piece goes soggy once it hits the syrup.
