Method
- Slice the pears into 2–4 pieces and core them.
- Dip in the salted water 2–3 minutes, then scoop out and rinse.
- Dry fully on a board in the sun (or a low oven or dehydrator) until leathery-hard.
- Grind the dried pears to a coarse flour.
- Mix the pear flour with warmed honey to a firm, mouldable paste.
- Roll into small honeyed balls, or use as a sealed filling for sweet fried pear pasties.
